Does the cost of shutters vary per material?
The cost of shutters is impacted by the material you want them to be crafted from.
- Hardwood Shutters – Our most popular range and a premium option that sits around the mid-price range, but costs could increase depending on customisations made. These are available in lower-cost 64mm to 76mm, and higher-cost 89mm to 114mm slats and can be designed in Café style, Full height, Tier on Tier, Solid, Tracks and special shapes.
- Faux wood Shutters – Made from uPVC, our faux wood shutters are UK-made, 100% waterproof, and have the same look and feel as our hardwood range. Plus, they have lower costs and a quicker lead time of 4 weeks! Please note these shutters are only available in café style and full height styles.
Shutter customisations and extra costs
The standard price you’ll pay for your shutters can increase depending on the customisations you opt for. The two main customisation options to tailor the look of your shutters are tilt rod options and colours and stains.
You have the choice of four configurations for tilt rods. These include:
- Classic (No additional charge) – Front tilt rod that connects the slats to allow them to be tilted in unison. Typically positioned in the centre but can be offset to the side if required.
- Contemporary Clear View (No additional charge) – A tilt rod that is a discreet aluminium rod hidden at the back of the shutter panel. To open and close the slats you simply adjust one slat manually and all slats will open and close in unison.
- Contemporary Hidden (Additional 10% charge) – A hidden tilt rod connects the slats via a mechanism built into the panel. Just tilt one slat manually and they’ll all open in unison.
- Solid No Tilt Rod (Additional 10% charge) – A solid style shutter has no slats to operate, boasting a more ornate look compared to a slatted shutter, only letting light in when the panels are open.
The two options available to finish your shutters are painted shutters or stained shutters. Please note that stained shutters come with an additional 10% charge.
